Advertising Sales Agent

UK Health Radio is currently looking for people to help sell radio advertising/station sponsorships on UK Health Radio and in our very successful digital Health Triangle Magazine. Now you might be thinking that we are only looking for people from within the health and wellness sector, which naturally is correct but not 100% correct. If for example you are well connected in the holiday travel sector, you are also at the right place as regeneration plays a big part in everybody’s health. If for example you are connected to the motor industry who are now selling E-cars, which is good for our environment /less pollution and therefore good for our health. Another yes for the environment is solar energy, wind energy, eco homes, etc.
Then we have health clubs, fitness clubs, fitness equipment and clothing, spa’s, the health food sector, still and sparkling water companies, sports gear companies like Wilson, Head, Babolat, Yonex, Speedo (yes you guest it, I am a BIG tennis and swimming fan), bicycle manufacturers, even British Gas, that are now offering new boilers that use half of the energy they used before, the list really is endless.
Naturally not forgetting the more obvious areas, such as companies that manufacture or distribute asthma pumps, wheelchairs, knee and elbow-braces and all the other braces, special chairs and beds, diabetic testing kits, blood pressure …

Responsibilities include:

Selling radio-, digital magazine and event advertising to a dedicated territory

Demonstrate a passion for health & wellness that translates to key sales opportunities for advertising prospects

Effectively communicate with all decision-makers, gatekeepers and influencers ranging from senior management to junior media planners

Possess the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and advertising agency personnel

Prioritize sales opportunities through a detailed account planning process

Comprehensive understanding of digital media landscape, from tablet and social media to emerging trends in health

Provide management with weekly sales updates and monthly financial progress reports

Enjoy being part of a team, but willing to take a leadership position and make independent decisions as needed

Qualification, earnings and age:

Probably a little black book with existing contacts is the most important of all, as UK Health Radio is not paying a basic salary at the moment, but we are offering a whopping 30% commission of the advertising revenue sold. UK Health Radio is a digital radio station – 100% independent and the first of its kind! As our name suggests, we are UK-based and we focus primarily on health. Because this is an Internet-based medium, our ‘reach’ is global. So it will not surprise you to hear that our programming is not just national, but international in style.

Over the last year, we have increased the number of shows and audio blogs, on a monthly, sometimes weekly basis. This is great news for our listeners as we offer the widest range of health and wellness topics of any radio station across the globe.

We purposefully do not favour either natural health, nor mainstream health, but feature both side by side, with the intention not to provoke but to inform. We have created a community of better informed people and we provide the professionals, who serve them, with a platform for evidence-based information on best practice. Our shows and website are designed to provide a primary source of the latest information on health and fitness, diet and nutrition, illness prevention and cure.

We are on-air 24/7. We average over 250 000 unique listeners per month.
Over 90% of our listeners are aged between 25 and 64, in almost equal parts. Only 4,86% is past the current retirement age for males. We have a 70-30% split between female and male.

The main interactions with our audiences are through the radio ( and the free monthly digital health and wellness magazine, Health Triangle Magazine ( which boasts a readership of between 80 000 and 100 000 per month. Across our network of Twitter accounts, we average a 100,000 followers and a steadily increasing number of Facebook fans.

We also attend external events – from outside broadcasts at anywhere from a medical cold storage manufacturer in Paris or a new Natural Burial Centre in Surrey through to being the official media partners for major exhibitions such as The Best You Expo 2017 & 2018, The Pharmacy Show, The Allergy & Free From Show, etc.

In addition, we are proud Official Media Partners of several charities and international events such as the “Healthcare Crisis Think Tank” which took place on the 28th March 2015 and UK Health Radio was there, reporting and broadcasting LIVE on the day.

We now have a “Listen on Demand” section that features already aired shows of all our presenters so that our listeners from around the world can listen to their favourite shows when ever they “DEMAND” and as many times as they wish. This is also great news for all our sponsors as advertising stays on-air.
